HabitRPG

Postby HematiteScales » 14 Jan 2014, 23:24

Hey, all! :yay:

I wasn't sure if anyone had posted about this already, but if you haven't heard, HabitRPG is a pretty fun site for getting your life on track. I had read about it recently and decided to join today. If nothing else, it has been a great way to lay out my responsibilities for the day/week. For whatever reason, the best method to make sure I get things done is if I have a checklist to mark off; I get the most wonderful sense of accomplishment being able to check off a duty! This site has the added advantage of giving you in-game gold to use for custom rewards (i.e. watching TV, eating that cookie you've been eye-balling, etc) or to level up your character. If you've ever enjoyed games like D&D, this can be a neat incentive for the procrastinators out there. (Like me!)

If you decide to join and are interested, my name on the site is Gypsindi. For the time being, I am using this to keep up with my intellectual/physical/spiritual/cleaning/creative goals. Time to stop wasting time!

For the most part, you're going to clear out the sample Habits/Dailies and replace them with your own. I can grab some pictures later as I know that always helps me more than a written example.

I'm wondering if my computer just isn't able to run it...the site seemed overly simple, like my computer was trying to do away with any extra graphics in order for it to open.

It is very simple! The only graphic really is your little customizable avatar. Everything else your character encounters is occurring in real life. ;)

Well, I figured out the problem. The site was loading incorrectly, and wasn't bringing up the 'play' button. However, once I resolved that, I encountered a new problem. My computer is too crappy to actual DO anything when I hit the play button, so nothing happens.
This happens with my email, too. I am unable to use email on this computer lol

I'm giving this a go too - same nickname. I should probably add Bardic Studies to the habits, right? :o

I got alot out of it, especially the guilds, but one needs daily(more like continuous) internet access to use. :(
It was good while it lasted.

Sounds interesting. I'll take a look at the iPhone app!
