For those interested in going deeper with the runes I recommend Teutonic Magic by Kveldulf Gundarsson. It's out of print, but can be downloaded here:

A friend of mine has a copy. He asked me to create a scanned PDF version of it. At the time I worked at a place that had special machines for removing the bindings and scanning books. A very fine book indeed.
