Thanks Deepwater,
We feel it’s a very happy place to be. As you know its great to find somewhere like that of your own! We were down today and everything is getting big, with fruits and flowers ready to burst. I was particularly excited when I saw my first gooseberry amongst the growth. They were always a childhood delicacy when foraging in the wilds! Id like to say our oaks are looking healthy too. Some will be planted this year but last years will be repotted. Hopefully Ill have more photos to share soon

Hi all,
Thought id share a few pics from today. Everything is blooming marvelous! I can’t wait to get my teeth into all this food that’s popping up! Its been a strange month, and i have decided to leave work to pursue a few dreams. Nothing fancy just reclaiming my time I guess. I have been feeling trapped and annoyed because I cant devote more time to the grove and life. I feel drained and chained. And all I really want is to feed myself and make things! I can’t imagine myself working 50 or so years just to attain what I am trying to do now! But enough of my babble! Enjoy the photos

BB

Romelia

Beautiful photos Romelia! You have done an amazing job.

It's great that you have taken some time off. I agree with you. I would much prefer to work only on growing to feed myself and making things I need rather than working crazy hours to buy things to keep me sheltered and fed!

Enjoy the rest of the summer - looks like you are going to have some great food from your patch.

Hi Romelia,

I'm another one who has only just found and caught up on this thread. You are so inspiring!

Because of one thing and another I never put in a vegie garden this last year, after more than ten years of it, and now looking at your lovely allotment, I realise that, while the rest has been nice, I am getting itchy to get gardening again!

Keep the photos coming!

Hugs,

Bronzie

Hey all!
Just a small update for you. New paths are under way and new veggie beds. Hopefully a fence is on the way as a tree that came down nearby in a storm, is being chopped up by the council. I asked if they could be kind enough to donate to our grove and they said they would! Ideally we would like to get the fence up asap as a neighbour doesn’t like us planting a hedgerow and has pulled up some of the hazels and beech! The council have no problem with our natural border or what we are planting. The old boy just doesn’t want his jeep scratched! We do have half a hedge that was there already on our land and he decided to desecrate it a month back (without asking) leaving all the cut foliage everywhere and the poor hedge looking very sorry. It was so he could get a caravan down to one of the plots! The road used by people on the land is big enough but I decided on a woven fence just to protect the wildlife and plants. This person has dictated that all the fences must be straight and stained and in line. So naturally mine will be wonky!
