"Greenhorn" in the Druidry

Postby Jynx » 08 Apr 2016, 09:35

I am very very new to Druidry. What are some resources that got you started in your practices? I have the Animal Oracle Cards that got me intersted in Druidry. However other then that I'm at a loss what my next step should be. Any suggestions are extremely welcome I'm here to learn!

Try a new creative endeavour Jynx. Poetry got me more involved even though it was challenging at first. Traditional crafts and creating music were beneficial.

Hi Jynx, I'm posting this link again as its very useful... viewtopic.php?f=36&t=45196. It will lead to other areas of interest. Also there is the OBOD course - start with the Bardic Grade and work on from there. It will guide you on your path along with a helpful mentor.
Try the main OBOD website at www.druidry.org for further resources - there are several good books in the shop viewtopic.php?f=36&t=45196

Hope that helps. :D

Take the OBOD course. Don't waste time like I did. Get on that straight away. If you find it unaffordable start a savings fund for it.

Jynx - Heddwen's links above are excellent and definitely the first place to start. I would also recommend the following link:

https://druidnetwork.org/

While the OBOD links are excellent for a flavour of what OBOD is about, the Druid Network gives a slightly wider look at Druidry in general. It worth exploring the various sections (you will find them at the top of the above link's web page) - eg:

"Resources" - particularly "essential books for those new to Druidry"
"About Druidry" - a number of interesting sections about our beliefs. rituals and so forth
"The Druid Network" - particularly the section "The constitution of TDN" which has an excellent definition of Druidry.

I wish you every joy in taking this new path.

Blessings
Malcolm
