Accessing old posts

Postby shirley mclaren » 26 Aug 2015, 16:56

I come and go from the forums and the last time I visited was in March this year. However, I have 20 pages of unread posts that I would like to read, but when I click on a post, I receive a message that states it is out of timeframe. Can someone advise me about this please as I have never encountered it before.

Some of the boards do auto-prune, so if no one reads a certain post in say 6 months, it is deleted. Maybe that happened to those topics too...

Yes it sounds like a message indicating the post has been autopruned

That is a lot of posts then. I shall have to read the forums more often.

We autoprune just the forums that get a lot of traffic but don't usually have substantive threads going, as in the Hearthfire. If you look at the pale red box at the top of each forum, it should tell you if that forum autoprunes and how often. For the Hearthfire, if a thread hasn't had a view or a post in 60 days, it's deleted.

That's why the mods and admins sometimes move an interesting thread to a more pertinent (and permanent) location. So please feel free to send a request suggesting a thread be preserved if you see something that should be saved—we don't read everything! Be sure and copy the link to the thread.
