In response to the San Bernardino, U.S.A. shooting

In the Druid tradition, each of the great “rites of passage” is marked in the calendar by one of the fire-festivals: death, or Parting, is marked by Samhuinn, 31 October to 2 November, when the old Celtic year ends and there are three days of No-Time before the new year begins. Birth, and consequently Naming, is marked by Imbolc on 1/2 February—the time when the snowdrops appear and we can sense the first stirrings of spring. Mating, the Great Rite of making love, is marked by Bealteinne on 1 May, when the forces of spring are in full flood. Marriage, the formal recognition of having found a long term partner after the explorations of the spring time of one's life, is marked by Lughnasadh on 1 August. This forum is for discussing the ceremonies and customs associated with each festival and for all of the rites of passage in our lives.

In response to the San Bernardino, U.S.A. shooting

Postby Taliesin2 » 03 Dec 2015, 01:38

Nine Blessings on the Gun Men who wantonly take life.

By the Sky above, let the winds fill their lungs with air to breathe.
Let the Sky above fill their hearts, minds and souls with the
gift of compassion that they have irresponsibly discarded.

By the Sea around us, let the waters drown them in life.
Let the Sea with its ebb and tide remind them how sacred life is.
Let the Sea boil the water in their bodies reminding them of
their own mortality.

By the Earth beneath us all, let the Gun Men be immobile.
Let the Earth reveal its splendor lessening their madness.
By the grace of the Gods, let the Earth ground the Gun Men,
absorbing their madness, their rage their desire for Death.

Nine blessings of peace on all who recite this.

This is an amazing piece and such sentiment. I wonder, couldn't we use just this to cast a spell, put energies into the world to maybe help to alleviate the thoughts and feelings that provoke these behaviors in the people who commit these atrocities? Such an amazingly written plea.

I guess i am asking, would you, the writer of this, Taliesin2, mind of this was used for this purpose?
Brightest blessings,
