My Animal Paintings

Postby SpiritFox » 16 Sep 2013, 15:39

Hello everyone!

Here is a thread in which I will share my Druidry-inspired animal illustrations and paintings.

My first one for now is titled 'Osprey as Totem'. Osprey came back into my life recently so I wanted to thank them in the best way I know how. Offerings were also made, and I have a feeling Osprey is happy with them. I made a post regarding Ospreys in Wales here: http://celticanimaltotems.com/category/conservation

A beautiful picture of such a beautiful creature. I live quite near to the osprey project in the Dyfi valley, near Machynlleth and have visited it several times. Also I have been following the ospreys on the tv show, ' Spring watch'...magical birds.

You have inspired me, SpiritFox. One of the things I've been working on, in the bardic grade, is recovering my creativity, which got buried under a heap of work, study elsewhere (I'm an herbalist) more work (I'm an animal rescuer) and eventually disappeared altogether. For years I painted, played bass, wrote poetry and drew cartoons, and then I got distracted. It's a long way back for me, and I struggle with "making time for art" but I looked at your eagle and remembered how much I loved my birds, too! (Our styles are not dissimilar) It's a powerful image, and I am off to read your blog now as well.

Thank you for your artwork, and the inspiration that came with it.

Lovely work! We are just moving from an area that has many ospreys and eagles -- along the east coast of the U.S. -- to a more mountainous inland area. I'll have to return to the coast occasionally to see these magnificent birds.
Soaring high on a wind current, I gaze down at the rugged shapes of the mountains and the shimmering water of the lakes, and thank the Goddess that I am Crow.
