Halo of water, tongue of wood, skin of stone, long I've stood.
My fingers - short reach to the sky, inside my heart men live and die.

What am I?
A moated castle.
That looks so logical. I'd agree.

Treegod, I give up...

Nolliag: I was thinking "the earth"

One from me:
"In my path, words exist
yet in my wake rests emptiness
only to be filled with words once more

What am I?"
A pause between words?

The moated castle sounds really good, so I'm with that too
A pause between words?
Well thought, but not the right answer

A sentence then.
Nope...

Another clue maybe?

"In my path, words exist
yet in my wake rests emptiness
only to be filled with words once more.

Without your hand I can't do my work,
yet I undo your hand's work."

After a shredder I don't know what else to offer. Hmm, I'll give it some thought.

So, here's the answer to my riddle: a meeting! :)

Getting closer

I can't really take credit for that answer, no. 2 son shouted it out and soon as I asked the question. Didn't even hesitate. So I asked him some of the previous riddles and he got those too. He tells me riddles are easy.

Nollaig the Bard, a most elite magician, claimed to be able to throw a cricket ball so that it would go a short distance, come to a complete stop, and then reverse itself. He also added that he would not bounce the ball off any object, or tie anything to it.

How could this most excellent Bard perform this trick?
OK this my answer no help from either son.

Think physics...think gravity... he threw it up into the air!

Imagine you're a busdriver, working all day, driving around and picking people up.
The shift starts with Hank as co-driver and Richard as ticket-controller and 7 passengers leaving at the bus station.
At the first stop the bus picks up 5 more, but 2 get off.
At the second stop, 13 get in, one gets in to ask directions but leaves immediatly and two more get out of the bus.
At the third stop Harry gets in to change shifts with Hank, two people get off and 3 get on board.
At the forth stop, Jake releases Richard, 12 people get out and 4 get in.
At the fifth, no one gets out, 2 more get in.
At the sixth, a schoolclass of 25, their teacher Michael and their teammascotte get on, 1 people gets off.

The seventh stop is the end of the route, and there's only one question: what's the busdrivers name?
