First attempts

Postby TristessaKC » 03 Apr 2014, 18:58

I bought this camera about 4 years ago. It's a Cannon DSLR Rebel EOS XS. I never really used it for some reason.... :-)

I just used the lens it came with. Zoom EF-S 18-55mm. Mostly on the Macro setting.

Anyway, they aren't the best but I like them :)

I really like the first picture!
It's really clear and I like the contrast in colours and textures, the natural and the man-made.

Canon cameras are really nice. I have one a couple models down from yours and I love it. But I don't get much time to use it. :-(

Thanks Cosmic Ash! I was debating between the Canon and a Nikon. The reason I picked the Canon is because the lenses for Nikons are more expensive. I want to get a macro lens and telephoto lens for mine...but I'll work with what I have for now. I was mad though because I got my camera and a couple months later the new model came out and was the same price and mine dropped $50. It's ok though. Once you get up there in megapixels it doesn't make much difference to me.

Well done! A big part is photographing is having an eye for composition and textures. I do see that in your images.
Keep it up, lets get the obodies back photographing!

Hehe, Chenzen says he likes spiders but when I pick them up and try and hand them to him he freaks out...lol. I used to have 22 tarantulas...I loved them. Chenzen says I can get ONE when we start getting everything in order. (I'm thinking one of every kind  )

I ran out of things to take pictures of in the yard...I took some pictures of him that I really like...but I don't think he will want me to post them...my favorite is of him blowing out a puff of smoke...although I hate the fact that he does it :)
