Radio Druid

http://www.radiodruid.org, or type 24.157.84.159:8000 into
your favourite Internet music application, or go to http://www.shoutcast.com and
type in "druid"

Druidry is sometimes difficult to define, with each individual finding their
own path in harmony with nature, tradition and  intuition. So it is with
Radio Druid, an eclectic mix of music and spoken word that tries to reflect
the varied experiences of being druid.

The music of the Celtic lands and diaspora is the touch stone for
programming, but as often as not, the listener will be taken on tangents
through many different styles from classical to pop, from punk to rap and
back again to Celtic folk.

Common themes, loosely connected with druidry,  will be found in most
selections, with odes to the Sun, Moon and Earth, chants to the gods or
ancestors, spoken word commentary on peace, social justice and environmental
issues, explorations of the seasons and music with mythical themes, from
King Arthur to Lord of the Rings.

Just like Maritime weather,  if you don't like it, wait a few minutes and it
will change!

The goal of Radio Druid is to slowly replace commercial recordings with
"home grown" recordings by talents such as
Damh The Bard, Paul Mitchell and the peerless Jack Sharp. If you have an
MP3, send it along and it will get slotted in.

"Tune in" by going to http://www.radiodruid.org, or type 24.157.84.159:8000 into
your favourite Internet music application, or go to http://www.shoutcast.com and
type in "druid".  Radio Druid aims for 24/7 broadcasting, but 20/6 is more
realistic, with the server getting unplugged, children turning off programs,
dogs chewing through cables and other hazards of Internet broadcasting. Keep
checking back!  Email drude@rogers.com with any questions, comments or
content.

Konnichi Wa to All:

After getting Radio Druid on my Computer's Speakers, I went for a nice relaxing Bath while listening.

After a couple of nice soothing songs, the Announcer got on. I recognised the voice from somewhere, but I could not place it. Anyways: the Announcer started off by discribing a recent event where the US Army went into a remote rural district of a place called Humbolt in order to destroy someones meager Marijuana crow that they were most likely just growing for their own consumption.

After discribing the event, the Announcer went on to a 10 or 15 minute rant on how stupid the Maijuana Laws are, and that they should legalize it for consumption as Textiles, Ropes, Clothing, Paper, as well as Smoking. He even stated that if everyone was allowed to smoke it, there would be a lot more Peace in Humanity.

After his Rant, There was a Heavy Metal sounding tune, a couple of anti War/Vietnam War songs. Right now, another Heavy Metal tune is playing.

I am enjoying it:

After a tune of the Beatles singing Revolution, there seems to be a Chanting in what may be Gaelic.

Since I only speak some Japanese and nothing else, I can not understand a single word, but it the music is nice anyways.

But right now, I am headed off to my Legion for a few pints.

Konnichi Wa to All:

I have a Tune that an Artist named Tim Lawson plays. The Song is called "Such A Beautiful Tree". The Song appears on an Album he wrote in support of the Royal Canadian Legion called "Lest We Forget II".

Tim Lawson's website is at http://www.timlawson.com

The link to his Free Music Downloads is at:
http://www.timlawson.com/downloads.html

All you have to do is click on the download for the Song: "Such A Beautiful Tree", and then you can play it on your WinAmp program.

Maybe get into touch with Tim Lawson and get permission to play his tune on Radio Druid.

Konnichi Wa to All:

Here is another Song that could be played on Radio Druid. It is actually something I wrote about when Lady Nimue-San was having trouble in Florida during the Hurricane Season.

A couple that lives in the Apartment Building I manage wrote a Song called "Hurricane", and it is about Hurricanes. It is a nice Rockabilly tune which could be played on Radio Druid.

To check out the Song yourself, click on:

Radio Druid just played Kickintheeye Song Hurricane. I only posted my request for them to be played an hour ago. Boy are you guys Noritsu Teki Ni Desu!

I just rang my Neighbors who wrote the Tune, and held the Phone to the Speakers while informing them that I got them played on Internet Radio Druid. They are Thrilled! Bonzai!!!

The one big thing I really like about the Tune Hurricane is its giving Homage to the Sacred Element of Air.

One funny thing about my the WinAmp program is it continues to play music from Radio Druid while I am playing my Continnum Space Combat Game Program.

It is also nice to have it playing while I am doing my Internetting or Outlook Express Correspondence.

I would also like to mention that Radio Druid welcomes not only music, but also spoken word...so if you have poetry, commentary, stream of consciousness that you can commit to mp3, then it will get played.

Also, any commercials for goods/services that you think might appeal to a druid/pagan/new age audience would be welcome...all free of charge, of course.
