I have a cricket that lives in my basement. I've noticed a slight decrease in the spider population since it moved in.

Four chickens and one rooster, two rabbits and two cats...
Hopefully soon a dog and a horse will be added to the household.
Three sounds one should treasure:
the whisper of the wind through the leaves
the songs of one's heart
the callings of the universe

I have :

one dog, my Anam cara Danny, 6 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, love of my heart, light of my days

7 cats, not a reasonable creature in the herd, all imps and faerie-ridden, and wildly adored
Louise, my rescue-chicken
Stephen, a love bird without a mate, who seems happier that way
and Lorelei, my laughing dove, who never ceases to get me laughing as well

Benjamin and Clementine, ball pythons, teachers of stillness like many snakes and reptiles

and my beautiful, magical, totally blind Paint gelding Dakota, gift of the Creator on so many levels, and daily reminder that Sight need not be physical to guide us wisely. :trisk:

oh feranaja - what wonderful pets you have. Alas, I am without any at the moment. When I was younger I had quite a lot of pets and at that time, I also lived in a more rural area. I have registered at the local Animal Sanctuary for an older pet to spend his/her twilight years with me. Hope I hear from them soon :anx:

That is such a beautiful thing - to seek out and love an abandoned senior. If I am able, I hope one day to set up a rescue for old dogs given away by their families - there's almost nothing sadder They do have special needs, but they give so much back. In my rescue work I've seen dogs actually die of grief, I kid you not, after being abandoned. It takes a very special person to open to them.

Bless you for this - I am sure the dog who needs you will find you...soon.

I have one 20 year old Russian Blue cat named Vermin. She chose me at the age of one week and we have been together since she was five weeks old. She has me, my husband, and all the neighbours wrapped around her wee paw!

I had a beautiful, not purebred but Russian-blue-like female named Violet... who was routinely called "Violent" because it was just the antithesis of her sweet, contemplative nature.
I know how these names can happen. :)

I have two black cats, Nightmare and Chaos. I have another black cat named Barney at my parent's house.

I have had a wide variety of pets:leopard geckos, anoles, mice, hamsters, rats, fish, snails, hermit crabs, tarantulas, scorpion, cats, dogs, and horses. Unfortunately I had to give up all my pets except for a couple of my fish and Barney when I moved.

If anyone needs pet advice, I'm not a doctor but a vet assistant and would be happy to help you out.

One piece of advice I can give right now is NEVER DECLAW YOUR CAT. I've seen the surgery and it made me ill. I don't have a weak stomache either

We have two cats:

Bear- a 20 pound tabby
Cooper- smokey gray with white underside, about 16 pounds.

Unfortunately, our two other cats passed on:

Sushi, 25 pound Mainecoon cat. Super smart cat that could open doors and responded to commands.
Scruffy, 15 pound cat

My cat is 1 year old. His name is Mons. He doesn't like too much noise, and can be a little bit shy sometimes. He doesn't like too much hugging, but he loves to lie right beside us most of the time. If we haven't been home for a couple of days, he clearly misses us. He is thinking about food all of the time. He likes to hunt, but that is just for fun. He has specialized on shrews and great tits, and he loves to bring them indoors through his cat door to show them to us. He likes to play with lights and trash packs. Every time he wants our attention he starts climbing the curtains.

We have a cat named Thor. He has a lightning bolt on his forehead (and we didn't want to call him Harry)
We have 2 firebelly Honduras boa's
8 leopard gecko's
2 african fattailed gecko's
3 water snakes
9 cornsakes
(and 2 kids;P)

I have always loved cats, the love for reptiles came from my husband but is very contagious. Beautifull animals.

I have nine cats and a dog! Yes, you read that right, nine! They are all rescues, 8 of whom we found as babies and 1 we rescued at a year old... They are the most loving and sweet tribe, and they even love our dog, too. I often wake to find a whole puddle of them snuggled up together on my bed! We are blessed to live on many acres so they have incredible outdoor adventures, and they especially love coming on walks with my dog and me. It's the funniest thing to see a trail on cats strolling down a woodland path! Sending love and blessings to all animal lovers here! <3
