I am river

Postby Drea » 27 Oct 2017, 16:09

I am thick and thin
I undulate,I flow
Over rock and under willow
Branches skim my surface
I am cool underneath
And slowly warming on top
I am fragrant like honeysuckle
I am slow to anger
And quick to comfort
I cradle in my arms
A bounty of life
Silver fins and painted turtles
I sway with the breeze
I am graceful like the swan
Who nests on my shore
One glance and you know me
Remember me
Seek me
I am always moving underneath
Changing and remaining the same
All at once
Like a woman
I am river

Beautiful. Reminded me of this, by John O'Donohue.
'I would love to live
Like a river flows
Carried by the surprise
Of its own unfolding'
