Turkish/Irish cognates from the Galatians

Postby bolgios » 25 Jun 2012, 14:00

In view of the well documented Celtic state (Galatia) in modern day Turkey:

it is interesting to note how many cognate words have survived in the modern Irish and Turkish languages due to the Celtic presence in Turkey:

Interesting, thanks for that.

Vaguely related. A brilliant read for anyone wanting to know more about (roughly) the same region is this: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1040 ... y_Mountain

I guess anything by William Dalrymple would appeal to many on DHP: http://www.williamdalrymple.uk.com/

Great links! :) A book you may be interested in is the 'Irish Origins of Civilization' by Michael Tsarion. He references the work of Conor MacDari, 'Irish wisdom Preserved in the Bible and Pyramids', in which he does a similar comparison between old Irish and ancient Egyptian. Fascinating stuff. There is a 13 hour talk on YouTube in which he discusses all the aspects of the 2 volume work. Check it out!

Did you hear there are Ancient Pyramids in Bosnia, that went unnoticed until Google maps came about?
Beannachtaí,
