In memory of "Lynard"

Postby Willowen » 03 Apr 2014, 05:34

I have a few words to say about my friend, Lynard Skynard a.k.a Lenny Roo (called this because of his tendency to hop around like a kangaroo). "Roo" was no ordinary yellow lab. He was one of the most extraordinary hunting dogs I've ever seen, as a friend of mine put it, "He loved to hunt and hunt he did". He and my husband spent many hours at their favorite sport.
Roo was unable to hunt the last two years of his life, but he became my constant companion as we gimped around the house together in the mornings trying banish the morning stiffness from arthritic joints. Even though this dog was 13 he always found joy in life. His motto (if he could talk) was, "Everyday is the best day ever!" I learned a lot from that goofy dog.
Thanks Roo for being my friend. I will miss you more than I can say.
Now you can run again. :rainbow:
