Tree Identification 1

Hi all,

Some time ago I planted some seeds with my children, which I thought were apple and/or orange. However now the trees have started to grow quite a bit when I look at them they don't seem to agree with the pictures or descriptions in my tree identification books.

Could anyone help on identifying this tree (I've made a separate post for the other tree I cant identify)

This tree has groups of small black berries and very small white flowers in clusrers with a yellow centre. Leaves are single, oval and finishing at a point

Many thanks in advance.

really hard to tell from these photos. Can you take some pics from a bit further away so we can see the whole plant?

Interesting one: the leaves and flowers look like some sort of citrus, but the berries have me stumped...

Thanks, Corwen. I'll try and get some better photos, I was concentrating on the leaves and flowers.

Mountainheart, yes my thoughts exactly. The flowers seem to be blooming at an odd time too (same as the fruit)

Hiya,
looks like a specie of datura to me. If so then probably XXX poisonous, so take care if you get plant juice on your hands. As you say, can't be too sure from pics, and if it is datura I don't know this particular one. The flowers are on the small side.

Mystery to me. The flowers clearly look citrus, but the fruit.....? Some kind of Prunus?

Here's a similar leaf and general morphology, texture of leaf, habit, and other images show fruits of the right kind. Datura.

Get this plant away from your kids is best. Very interesting and attractive though. Don't know the other plant offhand.

Another few pics.

The berries look very much like small tomatoes, but black and ridged.

It would appear that the plant is Black nightshade, most definately not what I planted. Although we did have some cherry tomatoes which actually look quite similar.

Thanks for all your help. This one will has been removed already
