All (Blackbird)

I seem to feel the need to be useful once more. I note that some people have signed up, but perhaps the Awen tap hasn't been fully opened and the inspiration hasn't flowed - or has been directed to other things.

Therefore, if anyone would like to pass a card across, I'll have a crack at another Tarot card.

Bright Blessings

Huge apologies to you all - but I have been neglecting my promise to do the hanged man. If it's not already been done (and doesn't seem to be) I'll try and direct my attention to it.

I guess it was apt that the hanged man was going to be the one that had me serenely hanging around until I got some kind of direction; anyways, I finally completed it.

Although the image is how the hanged man is traditionally shown, hung by one foot, with the other leg crossing behind it, I have taken the image and shown it from another perspective (as usually we see the person face on with a look of calm serenity). In my image, we don't see the face, but that's not the intention.
In most descriptions of the hanged man we are told that his face is of serenity, and that he's not really in pain; but that is just our perspective on the situation. Looking at the problem from another direction, is there another route, another perspective that we can take into consideration? Too often in live we look at the cards that we are dealt as they lay on the table; sometimes we need to look at them slightly differently - and that is what I wanted to reflect here.

Wow - really impressed by the card submitted by Blind Owl!

I had a text chat with Crystal Dragon so I could incorporate her ideas into the Judgement card; appropriate I thought as this card is considered to be the "Kharma" card - the penultimate in the majors, and a summation of all that has gone before.

Crystal Dragon's idea was to have a picture of Glastonbury Tor with a hot air balloon (chakra coloured) rising above it with an awen on the balloon - symbolising the rising above the material world to a new spiritual level.
I liked this idea - the Rider-Waite deck has an angel blowing a trumpet, calling (typically) three people, bringing in the next stage - whether that is birth or rebirth; effectively reaping the seeds that have been sown.

So my card consists of for main aspects to describe this. Firstly, we have the hot air balloon, floating above the ground and carrying someone (An angel? A druid? Us?). The balloon has the Awen symbol on it, carrying the visible message of creativity to all who see the balloon, irrespective of whether they feel connected to it or not. That the balloon is in the air (the symbol for creativity and inspiration) is further encouragement of the opportunities available to us. I've included the trumpet being raised by the person in the balloon - the clarion call is made, the time for action is now.
The second aspect to this card is Tor and the castle on the top. Physically, this is seen as a rally point for anyone around the Somerset area (and having just moved to Somerset I feel a great affinity to this symbolism!). That the tower stands at the very top of the Tor, connecting the land to the sky - earthing the creativity towards rational thought - is a reminder that just because we have the creativity to do something, we should be mindful of the practical impact that it might have on us and others.
The third aspect to the card is the Yin/Yang symbol, described here as sleeping dragons. As before, the balloon pilot is calling to us, awakening the dragons that lie within us. What will now happen will depend on what we have experienced before - good or bad, it is for us to decide and take forward.
The fourth and final aspect to the card is the sky. For much of the card I have specifically worked in black and not black colour, further emphasising the yin/yang and light/dark aspects that we balance throughout our lives. But this sky is mottled ; it is either the start of the day, or the end of the day - the reader can decide - and this enhances the fact that with rebirth we can consider it to be a new start or an ending, but in fact it is all part of a much larger cycle.
