New stone circle discovered

A new stone circle has been discovered on Dartmoor: ... n-dartmoor

Fascinating stuff! Thanks for posting that.

Thanks for the link to the legend as well - the local lore often adds ‘flesh’ to the ‘dry bones’ of a discovery. It contains the noteworthy references to the dark, deep pool, a spirit of the water, the blood and offering, and a series of steps to be correctly completed that indicate a genuine folk memory rather than, say, a Victorian’s fancy.

I would be interested to know if there is a large amount of quartz in or near the circle as this was an important element of ‘earth magic’ in the ancient belief systems (the crystals flash/ spark when shaken or danced on). Roll on the geophys results and chem analysis...
