Greenwood Tarot

Postby kitkalas » 03 Apr 2010, 03:41

Anyone have experience using this deck? It's always made the most sense to me, with the wheel of the year storyline of seasons and life transitions built into a setup with only a few divergences from the standard deck.

Mark Ryan, one of the original co-creators, has teamed up with John Matthews and Will Worthington on a new Wildwood Tarot along a similar line as the Greenwood.

My personal favorite card - 'Blasted Oak'. Apart from falling near my birthday on the year, nothing quite tops the Hanged Man falling out of flaming oak tree.

Hi Josh,
Thanks a lot for the information about the new tarot project. As far as I know the Greenwood tarot is out of print for quite a while so maybe there are not so many ppl out there using it regularly.

hi
the Greenwood Tarot is my mostly favourite! :sun: the wonder-ful pictures go directly into my heart and touch my soul in a very wonder-ful way.. love it
I like the shamanic symbols and meanings. they fit on me and my spiritual way I was going till now. I like to be inspired by the pictures, I like to meditate about it, like to think over it. I do not lay cards, only one time. for me it's more interested to meditate about or to feel inspired in an extensive way. the addition of the numbers of my birthday to find the personal card or the card of the year gives more to think over.

I found the cards and the book on www - the book is already out of print

at http://greenwood-tarot.com/tarot2/display-gt-cards.html the cards could be showed by clicking on the left side to choose, than they are visible on the right side

for a free online tarot session you can ask a question here: http://greenwood-tarot.com/tarot2/index.htm how I was surprised that this description fits on me and my situation at this time

I love this deck and I've used the online tarot reading thingy quite a few times. Unfortunately I don't own my own deck. I very rarely see it for sale and it's always very expensive.
I'm excited to hear about this new Wildwood Tarot - Wil Worthington is an amazing artist (I have the Druidcraft tarot and his Tree Oracle)

Well, I couldn't contain my curiosity and googled it.
There's some pretty pictures at http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/wildwood/
It claims it's a reworking of the Greenwood, but most reviewers seem to think it is a very drastic reworking and should be regarded as new work in its own right. It's due for release in the uk in April, or as a box set in June.
Thanks, Josh, this is going right on my wishlist :D
