I'd be happy to join in from time to time as I haven't visited this deck for a while :)

I really love this deck and book. I've read many, many books, but have never really studied each card as you are proposing and I think that is why I never got much out of the tarot. Also, I had the Waite deck and I'm not fond on those colors, the Druidcraft deck reflects more the colors of the earth. What I especially like about the book is that it introduces the royal families, then the pips and finally the Major Arcana, so you don't make the mistakes of other books in thinking that only the Major Arcana are important or are even more important that any of the other cards. Also, this the first book that I've read that links the royals to the elements and to the zodiac. Since I studied astrology for many, many years, I feel more at home utilizing this deck.

It seems our fab party is growing!!

I was wondering about how many cards we should "do" a week. Doing just 1 would seemingly take forever but I also don't want to overload. 3 cards a week would take us 6.5 months (ish give or take my terrible math lol!) What do you think?

No hurry, one a week would allow for some pretty good conversation.

I agree with Carina. I would also welcome some discussion of cups in general or 4s in general. If we learn the essential qualities of the groupings, I think that will help loads. Where do you want to start?

I have posted the first card here: http://www.druidry.org/board/dhp/viewto ... 78&t=41655
I figure we work through them as they are listed in the book. For copyright reasons I have obviously not copied the interpretation as it is written in the book but have listed the page she is mentioned on. With the neccesary interruptions writing this took longer than expected so I'll be back once the kids are in bed :D

Now that we have started, I do think 1 card a week is slooooooooooooow, so if anyone else wants to bump it up to 2, that's OK with me,

After saying this was a great idea I realized I don't actually have a set of druidcraft cards to mediate on to contribute. :-(

Monday and Friday are fine.

Crinia, I highly recommend the deck and the book combination. You can get it through OBOD.

I've been using the wildwood tarot cards and the animal and plant oracle cards.
Purchasing a druidcraft set would be a good idea but postage takes 4 to 5 weeks to get to my little corner of Australia. You'll be well into you discussion of the cards by then. I'll put them on my birthday wishlist.

Does anyone continue to have an interest in this?

I just got over my resistance to Tarot, and a friend has been working with me to fill in what I wasn't getting easily from just reading. I got my new Druidcraft deck and book for Mother's Day, and would love to hear others' impressions of various cards. I also bought the Witches Tarot because I really liked the deck and the names of the cards.

I don't see a need to have any set regularity, but if someone mentions a card and others chime in, I know I'd learn a lot, since I'm a very green newbie in Tarot.

Starting out, the first time someone read my cards, I was the Queen of Cups, and it seemed to fit very well, given my interpretation and understanding. I had a sense of great success in life, and I was feeling a lot of positive emotions. I recently had been training my horse for a competition and won several ribbons, as well as the reserve show championship. I had been doing well in school, had a great group of friends, and had a generally nice life. I was young, and didn't have any deep understanding or feelings about the card.
Soaring high on a wind current, I gaze down at the rugged shapes of the mountains and the shimmering water of the lakes, and thank the Goddess that I am Crow.
