I had this problem too, I think I used Alder (fearn) for w, but I can't remember why, or where I read it! Sory, no time to hunt it out at the moment, but I will get back to you!

I've found alder used for w in a couple more places, so I can't have made it up! Hope this helps.

I would also suggest fearn / Alder. The Irish language doesn't have the letter 'w', and in the old Celtic words that evolved into Irish, w turned into f. So, use the one for F!
