Automatic log out?
I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this today. I log in, read a few posts and after a few minutes when I try to access another thread on the board, I am immediately taken to the login screen. I log in again, and after a few minutes I am taken back to the login screen. Odd.

Re: Automatic log out?
It seems to have now sorted itself out. I was beginning to feel the board didn't want me here. I'm not surprised!

Glad your back, I'm going with Leyawenn's 'approaching Mercury retrograde' theory, because as I was reading this, hot tomato sauce fell from my pizza all over my clean trousers!

I assure you, the software isn't smart enough to take a disliking to anyone! Glad you got it sorted!

I'm not so sure about the smartness of software. Yesterday I was browsing the net looking for tapers to light candles for ritual. Google kept showing me websites selling taps. This morning one of the taps in my bathroom was dripping. Needs a new washer. Perhaps I should add Google to my pantheon!

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Our software for the board isn't smart enough to make decisions like that. I can't speak for Google and friends, although evidence suggests they're not so much smart as pervasive. Witness:malcolmb wrote: ↑15 Jan 2022, 11:14 I'm not so sure about the smartness of software. Dear Amazon, I bought a toilet seat because I needed one. Necessity, not desire. I do not collect them. I am not a toilet seat addict. No matter how temptingly you email me, I'm not going to think, oh go on then, just one more toilet seat, I'll treat myself.

Re: Automatic log out?
Having taught myself how to build websites and then built two increasingly popular Druid sites which I continue to run and develop, I have the greatest respect for those who create and maintain web software (DaRC ). Despite all the idiotic mistakes I make, the software patiently continues to work. While many would rightly suggest that it would not be difficult for any software to be smarter than myself, I always give praise where praise is due.Selene wrote: ↑15 Jan 2022, 21:37Sorry, I should have been more specific. My next adventure is to add a forum to one of my websites for those enrolled on my courses. I will of course make offerings to the software before I start. I wonder what offerings software will find agreeable?!
If you replace "toilet seat" with "book", the conversation with Amazon would be very different. "Yes please, send me more and more and ....."!Selene wrote: ↑15 Jan 2022, 21:37 https://twitter.com/girlfromblupo/statu ... 96?lang=enDear Amazon, I bought a toilet seat because I needed one. Re: Automatic log out?
It's amazing how relevant Forums still are in a world where more and more people are avoiding Facebook and the likes of twitter. so for anyone on your Courses, a Forum would indeed be a great addition
